Interface

The interface of AgroSense is designed to be userfriendly. All the windows share a common look & feel, and also share common actions and possibilities. These actions and possibilities are described on this page.

Window actions

Each window can have different actions, like maximizing, hiding, closing and moving. Most actions are invoked by clicking the corresponding icon in a window.

Moving windows

Windows can be dragged to different locations. When you drag a window a red square appears, representing the dragged window. This red square indicates where the window will appear when you stop dragging, and release the mousebutton. AgroSense has chosen default locations for windows, but in case you want to change this configuration feel free to experiment with the window-locations.

Wizards and windows

There is a difference between windows and wizards. A window is part of the interface, and can be docked next to other windows. Examples of windows are the geoviewer and the explorer. Wizards are screen-elements that appear 'in front of the application', meaning that they don't dock. They seem to float in front of other windows.

Wizards

A wizard is opened when you choose to create something new. A wizard 'blocks' the application. That means that you need to finish the wizard before you can continue using the application. The wizard shows how many steps need to be taken, and always ends with a summary to easily detect mistakes.

Windows

All other screen elements with content are windows. They can be moved freely, but will (almost) always dock in the application. Windows are not intrusive, meaning they don't block the application.

Messages, warnings and errors

Messages, warnings and errors appear in the lower right corner of the application. They contain an icon, showing what kind of message is thrown. The rest of the message should speak for itself.
