Production units

Production units are the core of a farm. A production unit links a crop to fields for a certain period of time. Several production units make up your fieldplan for a certain year.

About production units

Brief introduction

A production unit is an administrative object. The production unit itself has the following properties:

As you can see a production unit without any cropfields is purely administrative. When cropfields are added the production unit gets 'body'.

Context of a production unit

A production unit consists of several cropfields. These cropfields define the area for the production unit. Another object in the context of a production unit is the fieldplan. A fieldplan shows all production units that are valid in a certain period. By making the distinction between production unit and fieldplan it's also possible to have one production unit that lasts for several years (and thus belongs to several fieldplans).
