Mingle
is an attempt to create a twitter-ish service where users don't disclose their
identity or relationships with other users (called follow, list, tag, etc. on various
networks), in order to avoid behavioral
targeting surveillance on individuals and groups.
The revolution will not be "liked".
Mingle is still a work in progress, but the demo server already allows chat between
"fairly anonymous" users.
Note: [at least at the moment,] we're using
Gravatar for user icons.
It turns out that it can be a
privacy risk
(unless used wisely). If you can't be bothered to read the fine details, here's a video
explaining how to safely
join Mingle
(first 1:15 minutes are granny-friendly, the rest is optional).
