Explore Your Living Community (ALPHA VERSION, IN DEVELOPMENT)

Friends from Twin Oaks Communities Conference: Thank you for all the interest and feedback! You have all helped to develop this, just by sharing your needs and ideas. I will be working on the map at rapid speed this week to make it both more usable and better documented (so you can use it in your own community).

Reach out to me about anything, and please check back throughout September for a much better map! We are also far along on a Free School "Learning Commons" open source project for your communities. If you are interested in either project for your community, contact me or check out the code.

Our regional goal is to add 100 more locations in September. We are also incorporating more practices based on the feedback we've been receiving. Expect to see it much more full very soon!

This map is a growing record of the businesses, nonprofits, and public places that provide ways to meet our needs without big corporations. More than a "buy local" movement, it identifies the practices existing in your community that are planting the seeds of a more sustainable people-and-planet economy. Solidarity Economies have a lot in common with "New Economies" and "Sharing Economies," and are focused on creating a viable, values-based, other way.
