1. GanttProject
License:GNU General Public License (GPL)
Description:It is all about project scheduling. GanttProject is a tool for creating a project schedule by means of Gantt chart and resource load chart. We assume that you know what do these words mean. If you don't, there is a lot of information about these charts and scheduling in the Internet. Please refer to Wikipedia article or to "Applied Software Project Management" companion site

2. XPlanner
License:GNU Library or Lesser General Public License (LGPL)
Description:XPlanner is a project planning and tracking tool for eXtreme Programming (XP) teams. If you are not familiar with XP software development practices, the links page contains pointers to relevant resources. To summarize the XP planning process, the customers pick the features to be added (user stories) to each development iteration (typically, one to three weeks in duration). The developers estimate the effort to complete the stories either at the story level or by decomposing the story into tasks and estimating those. Information about team development velocity from the previous iteration is used to estimate if the team can complete the stories proposed by the customer. If the team appears to be overcommitted, the set of stories are renegotiated with the customer. The XPlanner tool was created to support this process and address issues experienced in a long-term real-life XP project.

License:GNU General Public License (GPL)
Description:BORG is a combination calendar and task tracking system. The calendar supports simple todo's. The Task Tracker goes way beyond todo's. BORG is basically meant to be a small self-contained Java application that you can run locally. Many users run it from a thumb drive. BORG actually stands for Berger-Organizer. Unfortunately, the name BORG seems to be a popular choice for software products, probably due to the number of Star Trek fans that write code. The fact that BORG calendar also seems to refer to the Microsoft Outlook calendar makes things even more confusing. Oh well....

6. Rapla
License:GNU General Public License (GPL)
Description:The objective of the project "Rapla" is to provide an easy-to-use resource-management system. The primary target of the program were universities. Rapla allows coordination between the lectures and the administration. It offers multiple ways to view the available resources and schedule the events. Rapla started as a simple room booking software, but in the last five years it evolved into a fully configurable framework for event and resource-management.

Description:Welcome to MPXJ! This library provides a set of facilities to allow project information to be manipulated in Java. MPXJ supports three file formats, Microsoft Project Exchange (MPX), Microsoft Project (MPP,MPT), and Microsoft Project Data Interchange (MSPDI). The library is currently based around a set of data structures modelled on the data described by the MPX file format. All manipulation of project data takes place using these data structures, which can be read from or written to the various supported file formats. The following notes explain what facilities MPXJ offers for each file format.  |  | Contact Us | Privacy Policy
